Hydrosols are the pure plant water that remains from the essential oil distillation process. They have therapeutic properties similar to the essential oil; however, hydrosols are more gentle in their action and aroma.
This course will teach you all about these beautiful plant products and how to use them safely and effectively.
Hydrosols can be used alone or blended with essential oils and used to treat specific physical, emotional, or energetic issues. They can also be used to create many different types of beauty products and cleaning products.
This course assumes that you have prior knowledge of and experience using essential oils.
Each course in this series includes a beautiful, informative Workbook that you can download and keep, plus one or more instructional videos.
Why Use Hydrosols?
I think that I fell in love with hydrosols the first time I met them. They are so soft and subtle, so elegant, and yet they are also therapeutic powerhouses!
In the healing work that I do, I always like to have alternative products and techniques to work with because different people need different types of therapy. How well-rounded is your toolbox - especially when you need something gentle that also packs a punch?
Almost everyone can use hydrosols, including infants and children, the elderly, and even pets. In fact, I would look at using hydrosols first for these populations where essential oils are often too strong or come with too many precautions.
In the Five Elements of Chinese Medicine, hydrosols are part of the Water Element, as they are the water-based by-product of essential oil distillation. We can use hydrosols to put the energetic flow of Water into all of the ways in which we use them: topically, in the air, and even by ingesting them.
